Welcome! Thank you for visiting the Benavides Law Firm, Weslaco, Texas's website. Benavides Law Firm is a law firm with two locations: Weslaco, Texas and Laredo, Texas. Its main purpose is to serve the communities on the Border of the South Texas Region. However, there are several services that are available across the State of Texas. Benavides Law Firm was founded in 2017 by Cynthia L. Benavides with a principal location in Weslaco, Texas. Her brother-in-law, Rene Carlo Benavides, opened the Laredo location in 2021. The two companies associate by family name and practice together in the areas of personal injury law to better serve the needs of our Texas border communities and state. Each attorney runs their own specialized practice in their respective locations.
Weslaco Location
The Weslaco Location is owned and run by Cynthia L. Benavides. Cindy has spent all 15 years of her legal career in the Rio Grande Valley: It is her goal to provide affordable, quality legal representation to her community. Her clients praise her professional dedication and customer service as a 5-star lawyer. Her fellow attorneys in the Hidalgo County Bar Association previously recognized her commitment as the 2008 Member of the Year, and in 2021, they presented her with the Above and Beyond Award. On a state-wide level, she has been recognized and selected as a prospective board member of the Texas Lawyer's Insurance Exchange.
Cindy Benavides opened Benavides Law Firm in January 2017, after honing her skills for 10 years at a well-respected, large RGV law firm. In 2020, Cindy joined forces with Edwards Abstract & Title Company by opening their Mid-Valley branch location. This venture gives Cindy the ability to better serve her real estate clients and gives the community choices when it comes to true customer service in the title industry.
In 2022, Cindy added her brother-in-law, Rene Benavides (J.D.) to the Weslaco location in an “of counsel” capacity to grow an expert level personal injury practice in the Rio Grande Valley. Rene is a board-certified personal injury trial attorney, a feat which less than two percent (2%) of lawyers in the State of Texas obtain. Cindy felt that her customer service combined with Rene’s expertise was something the Valley deserved.
Cindy strongly believes in pro bono service, especially for families in need who are choosing to adopt or who need guardianships for children with special needs. It is her dream to start a non-profit guardianship wing to her firm.
Laredo Location
The Laredo Location is owned and run by Rene Carlo Benavides. Rene has been an advocate for truth and justice as a trial attorney for over 22 years. Aside from his extensive trial experience as a personal injury attorney, he is a former City Attorney for the City of Laredo, former Chief Prosecutor in the 49th Judicial District Court for the District Attorney’s Office in Webb County, and former Assistant United States Attorney for the Southern District of Texas.
Rene has many years in private practice handling personal injury litigation and is board certified in personal injury trial law with the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Rene opened up the Laredo location of Benavides Law Firm in July of 2021, with the drive and passion to fight for what is right by seeking justice for all his clients.
Rene joined forces with his sister-in-law, Cindy Benavides (J.D.), in the Weslaco location in an “of counsel” capacity to grow the personal injury practice in the Rio Grande Valley.
